WORKING PRINCIPLES

How I make decisions.

  1. Know the critical path.

    I need to know what can stop the system and how to recover it.

  2. Use systems I can debug.

    Clear logs and familiar failure modes matter more than novelty.

  3. Build operations in.

    Deployment, monitoring, backups, recovery, and a small data footprint belong in the first plan.
